Sculpting Your Potential

The application, sculpted.

We help ambitious students build an academic and personal profile worth writing about — then help them write about it.

Real applications are built for years before the deadline: through genuine curiosity, independent projects, the right mentors, and a clear sense of direction. We help students find that direction long before the personal statement is due.

1 : 1 A strategist who knows your story well enough to defend it.

The Approach

From potential to proof.

Six stages. One coherent direction.

01

Decode the Profile

We start beneath the résumé — background, motivation, and the interests a student hasn’t fully named yet.

02

Define the Direction

What’s worth pursuing. Where the profile is thin. Which priorities deserve the next two years.

03

Build the Evidence

Extracurriculars, competitions, and leadership roles — chosen for depth, not decoration.

04

Develop the Intellectual Thread

Research questions, independent projects, and a timeline the student owns and completes themselves.

05

Enter the Right Rooms

Introductions to relevant professors and professionals, personalized outreach, and real preparation for what follows.

06

Shape the Narrative

Résumé, essays, interviews, and the final application — brought together as one story instead of six documents.

This isn’t a formula. The goal isn’t to make every student the same version of “impressive” — it’s depth, direction, and coherence around who they’re already becoming.

The Partnership

The Comprehensive Profile and Application Partnership

$3,000
Per student

A strategic partnership. Not a series of editing sessions.

  • In-depth profile assessment
  • Personalized development roadmap
  • Extracurricular and enrichment opportunity research
  • Independent research and project guidance
  • Professor and professional outreach strategy
  • Coffee-chat preparation
  • Program and application strategy
  • Résumé or CV development
  • Essay and personal-statement development
  • Interview preparation
  • Final application review
  • Ongoing guidance through the engagement

The exact number of applications, timeline, meetings, and deliverables are scoped together before the engagement begins.

This isn’t an investment in proofreading. It’s an investment in the research, judgment, and structure it takes to build a stronger body of work — and the accountability to see it through.

The Application Studio does not guarantee admission, scholarships, research placements, professor responses, or any other outcome. Students remain responsible for completing their own work, representing themselves honestly, and submitting accurate information.

About Mitali

Portrait of Mitali Thepade

I’m Mitali, founder of The Application Studio.

I’m currently completing an MS in Enterprise Risk Management at Columbia University, after an MS in Human Resource Management and a BS in International Business from The George Washington University. My own path has run through finance, research, career development, academic writing, and student leadership — which means I’ve spent most of my adult life translating one kind of experience into a language a completely different room could understand.

I grew up in Pune, India, and came to the United States for my education. I know, firsthand, what it’s like to walk into an unfamiliar academic system, an unfamiliar professional one, and an unfamiliar culture — and still have to explain yourself clearly.

I do not manufacture perfect applicants. I help students become more intentional about what they pursue, more thoughtful about what they learn, and more confident in how they communicate it.

That’s the skill I bring to this work: finding the thread that connects experiences a student might not think belong together — and helping them see value in what they’ve overlooked entirely.

The goal is not to create something that was never there — but to bring forward what was already waiting to be seen.
